Indeed, the death of Elias was sad enough but then in the end I broke as Sheen's character breaks down completely in the chopper knowing that the events of what he had seen and done would be with him forever.
@@Fenris77 that helplessness in this movie is insane. Normal person doesn’t want to fight in any war. Paradoxically at this time, we need enjoy every minute in our life.
@@darkwillow6966 Indeed we do. Platoon and Hamburger Hill are among the best war movies made. rivalled only (If slightly) by the movie "All quiet on the Western front" (The 1979 version) and is just as tragic, the two former as how war simply destroyed the characters and the latter similarly except the main character dying in the end after tiredly walking down the trenches. It is the concept of war robbing them of their you8th as the poem at the beginning of the Platoon. "Rejoice oh young man in thy youth".
This gripping, haunting piece is one of the most profound to ever accompany a movie that I have experience in my lifetime. Evocative of the deepest emotions that I'd ever felt as an 18 y/o and even now as a 53 y/o. First heard this track in the movie Platoon in 1986. I felt compelled to enlist in the US Army months later. I would later switch to the US Marine Corps and serve in Desert Shield/Storm in 1991. Such is the power of music & cinema.
this music has something what is too very interesting.... and l have always more enough respect for all those soldiers down on combat during in that last stronger war of vietnam
🦅🦅🇺🇸🇺🇸every american soldier will be forever all a great example of sacrifice and too much honor for the next news generations............thanks friends
When we cry that is when our soul's can breathe. That is when the beauty of our humanity is really seen.It smooths away the hardness of unreality.Love is reality.Love is "life".
One of the most brilliant moments in movies. Made me cry. Not ashamed to admit
I agree

I was 12 in '87 and I was like wow! my dad took me to see it.

It will remind me of my fallen brothers for ever, I never want to forget.
Master piece .....very uniquely composed, so much so pulled one's emotion to feel agony and empathy by self realization.

Beautiful Music! Thank you for your choice.👍Bobby.
